Starting his DJ journey at the age of 10, Rell began collecting records and honing his skills before even owning turntables. By age 13, he was dedicating himself to daily practice sessions after school. Self-taught and deeply passionate, he absorbed every aspect of mixing, scratching, and production, drawing inspiration from taping shows like Rap City on VHS & live radio mixes on Cassette. With a growing record collection, he seamlessly transitioned into sampling and production alongside his DJing pursuits. Throughout high school, he showcased his talents by collaborating with local artists, producing mixtapes, spinning at house parties, block parties & local events. At just 16, a guest DJ spot on a college radio station fueled his determination to pursue a career in music, leading him to an internship at New York’s Hot 97, landing his first on-air commercial gig filling in weekends on CT’s Hot 93.7, juggling multiple weekly college radio shows, club gigs, and promoting his own events, all while attending the University of New Haven. Rell has since embraced every opportunity to elevate his craft and make a name for himself in music & beyond.
